The Keys to Successful HR Systems Projects Print E-mail

Presented by Jay F. Stright

Research shows the majority of HR systems projects are not judged  by management to be a success. The primary reasons of the lack of success are:

  • The promised cost savings were not achieved and
  • Lack of customer acceptance preclueded  full utilization of the value the system provided.

HR systems projects that were seen by management as successful systems projects had two glaring similarities:

  • The project included a process and organization design component tied to the systems/ software delivery.
  • The project had a  significantly funded change management component to the project.

Understanding the implications of process and organizational design and change management  significantly  enhance the probability of a project being seen as successful by management. This seminar provides the knowledge and understanding  of both those components to a successful project plan by sharing information on the system implications of the shared service model and providing a change management approach that promotes the utilization of the systems full functionality.

In addition to learning about the four components of the shared service model, the attendees will learn how to focus their design on specific customer groups to increase satisfaction with the services provided to them. This focus on uniquely segmented customers allows maximum advantage to be taken of the function provided by modern systems to provide the optimum cost effectiveness (efficiency) and increased business value (effectiveness).

The seminar also provides knowledge on state of the art in change management, insights into how to build the resources needed for success into the overall project plan and tips on who to determine which change management approach best fits the management style and culture of each of the attendees companies.

Although significant data will be shared during the course of the seminar, there are also practical exercises to allow attendees validate their understanding of the concepts by applying them to the real world facing each of their companies.  In addition to the seminar each person attending will be granted two hours of post seminar telephone follow up to provide reinforcement of the material.
