Below you will find information on the 2008 OHUG Conference. This page will be updated on an ongoing basis as we get closer to the conference in June.
The call for presentations for the 2008 OHUG Conference is now closed.
Thank you to everyone that submitted a topic for consideration. You should have received details on whether your abstract has been accepted for the Global 2008 Conference by March 31st. If you have been accepted, please submit your Speaker Agreement as outlined on the Speaker FAQ page.
OHUG Presenter Code of Conduct
All speakers at the OHUG 2008 Conference must understand and comply with the OHUG Code of Conduct. Specifically, it requires members not to solicit business nor permit other members or guests to solicit business at group functions. Vendor exhibit hall and/or special product demonstrations (e.g., the Conference's Vendor Showcase Sessions) are the only exceptions.
To help you comply with the Code of Conduct, OHUG has developed the following guidelines:
Failure to adhere to the OHUG Code of Conduct could adversely impact the speaker's ability to present at future OHUG conferences.
Bio Example
The following is an example bio that you can use as a template when putting together your requested bio submission. The speaker must submit one of these. Co-speakers are optional.
Samantha Smith
ABC Company, Consultant
Samantha Smith as worked for ABC Company as a consultant for 3 years. She provides strategic consulting in all phases of your project, from upfront planning, to milestone reviews through to post implementation follow-up.
Prior to working at the ABC Company, Samantha was the Director of Product Strategy for XYZ company. In that role, she was responsible for setting direction for the HCM products in North America. She was involved in setting priorities for future enhancements, reviewing requirements, and working with customers to ensure product quality. Ms. Smith worked for XYZ Company for over 11 years.
Samantha has been in HCM for over 20 years, with her first eight years involved from the technical perspective working in the IT department developing/maintaining HCM applications for ACME Corporation. She wrapped up her tenure there in the role of project manager for the conversion of the legacy payroll system to an off the shelf software package.
Following her technical experience in HCM, Samantha then took on functional roles as HR Manager at both Main Street International and Widget Industries. Both were multi-state employers with Main Street International processing 7000 employees and Widget Industries paying over 45,000 employees.
Ms. Smith has a Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science and a Masters in Business Administration.
