OHUG 2017 Global Conference Closing Keynote
Dr. Jen Welter, First Female NFL Coach
Friday, June 9, 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
A trailblazer in every sense of the word, Jen Welter, the first female coach in NFL history, serves as a powerful role model and inspiring reminder that anything is possible and barriers are meant to be broken. Now she draws from her gridiron experience to share valuable insights on the importance of authentic leadership, the power of diverse teams and achieving what others say is impossible.
About Jen: Dr. Jen Welter is the first female to coach in the NFL. She served as an intern linebackers coach for the Arizona Cardinals. Welter’s time at the Cardinals has been defined by the bond she has fostered with the players. But this is not the first time Welter’s was the first to do something. In February 2015 she became the first woman to coach in a men’s professional football league, when she served as linebacker and special teams coach for the Indoor Football League’s Texas Revolution. Prior to that, in January 2014 Welter became the first woman to play running back on a men’s professional football team, when she signed with the Revolution.
