About Sona Manzo
Sona is an industry veteran with over 25 years' experience in business transformation with a focus on Human Capital Management initiatives and global program management. Sona is responsible for the leading the Hitachi Consulting Oracle HCM Cloud practice and serves as the executive sponsor for internal and customer HCM transformation initiatives. She is passionate about Modern HR and user experience, and works with the Hitachi global team to drive innovation.
Sona's interest in technology started with a class in programming as a junior in high school. She was the only female in the class! She continued to see the trend of low female participation in technology throughout an after school program at Lockheed, her university program in Computer Science, and particularly in her early years in consulting. She has been a long time champion of women in technology, supporting STEM programs through her longtime involvement as a Girl Scout leader and at local school events. She is a career advisor to women at many levels of their career, and serves as the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter Lead for the Hitachi Consulting WIN (Women Interactive Network).
The HeForShe solidarity movement was created by UN Women to provide a systematic approach and targeted platform where a global audience can engage and become change agents for the achievement of gender equality in our lifetime.
This requires an innovative, inclusive approach that mobilizes people of every gender identity and expression as advocates and acknowledges the ways that we all benefit from this equality. HeForShe uses online, offline, and mobile phone technology to identify and activate advocates in every city, community, and village around the world.
UN Women and HeForShe work with organizations to accelerate structural and systematic change in a number of ways. One of these is the IMPACT 10x10x10 initiative, a partnership with thirty leading corporations, universities, and heads of state committed to demonstrating a gold standard of gender equality at their institutions.
