Goals

Members of the Oracle HCM Community have, potentially more than any other user community, a strong need to learn how to operate in a cloud-based environment. From the needs of current cloud users, like the Taleo Business and Enterprise Edition users, to those considering how to integrate or migrate their current PeopleSoft and E-Business Suite implementations, the communities’ needs are diverse, and at several different stages of the process.

OHUG has developed a year-round HCM Cloud stories program that will include education, offers feedback channels and highlights customer stories in order to help users who are considering a partial or full migration to cloud services. Through these stories and education, OHUG wants to help  its members accelerate their cloud journeys.  Every Story Is Different – What’s Yours?

Below are examples of the journeys OHUG members are taking to the Cloud. If you identify with these stories and challenges, you’ll find support in our Cloud Journey library, as well as upcoming activities.

  • Planning your migration from EBS and/or PeopleSoft to the Cloud
    Even organizations that are currently well-served by their on-premises systems know they’ll need to evaluate and potentially migrate to cloud-based systems in the next few years in order to take advantage of new features and to improve their ability to deliver results. However, this kind of shift is not an overnight change, and can require one or more years to complete a thorough evaluation and develop a migration plan. This is the first few steps of a cloud journey: how to determine which services to consider; how to evaluate and make a decision; and how to structure a migration plan.
  • Are you optimized?
    Once your organization is using public cloud services, it can be tempting to just move on to what you can migrate next, but ensuring optimization of your current cloud implementation not only improves your current ROI, it can make future migrations easier. Take this journey if you are already using any HCM Cloud services, regardless of your plans for expansion.
  • Supporting business needs through integrations
    Modern business requires the ability to manage across departments, offices and even countries. The days of organizational silos are long past, and there is an expectation that HR information can be combined with other business information sources like financials quickly and effectively. This journey will cover the importance of thinking beyond traditional HR boundaries, and the best ways to seamlessly integrate across an organization.
  • Compliance for a global workforce
    Whether it’s through changing regulations, mergers/acquisitions, or business expansion, an organization can find itself out of compliance with labor rules, tax codes and other legal processes, and traditional systems have no way to address this. This journey will detail how cloud-based HR systems can help to make organizations aware of changes, and then adapt to address them quickly and easily.
  • Managing a Millennial workforce
    As more organizational employees come from the millennial generation, the expectations for recruitment, onboarding and management are changing rapidly. Millennials expect to be able to access their employment information instantaneously, and to join, learn about and participate in their organizations via mobile devices. This journey will cover how cloud-based talent acquisition and management strategies can help to attract and keep the best employees.
  • The power of predictive analytics
    Information about employee performance, turnover and training may be a critical factor in identifying and solving business problems. This journey will detail how organizations can garner real-time insights about their employees, and translate that information into process improvements and growth opportunities.

CBRE’s Journey to a Global Cloud Rewards Program

CBRE has grown significantly in size over the last 10 years through acquisitions globally. As a result, the manual processes they had to manage were no longer scalable for their growing organization, now operating in over 60 countries. CBRE selected Oracle’s Cloud Workforce Compensation solution to streamline and improve this important and complex process. 

In 2017, CBRE embarked on a journey to modernize their Global Compensation process and underlying technology. Some of the goals of the project included: 
- Standardizing the process as much as possible, while allowing for some differentiation by LOB or region 
- Real-time transparency of compensation allocation during the allocation period 
- Automation of eligibility, proration, and payment rules 
- Improved budgeting/ planning process 
- Greater dashboards, analytics and reports to support the C-suite for review and approvals 
- Vastly enhanced user experience
