 Dear OHUG Members,

Happy New Year! I hope you and your families enjoyed a healthy and happy holiday season. With 2013 already underway, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your continued dedication and participation in OHUG. We appreciate our members for the breadth of knowledge and experience they bring to the organization.

Last year was a strong year for OHUG. We held another successful annual conference in Las Vegas with more Oracle HCM users and experts in attendance, launched a new website and continued to move our organization forward with the creation of the executive board and partnership with a new association management company—SmithBucklin. I am looking forward to continuing to build on these successes in 2013. Last year, our SIG meetings, held at Global Conference, had more than 500 participants.

OHUG also welcomed Taleo to its user group in 2012. To read more about Taleo’s inclusion in the OHUG community, please read here.

I’d like to highlight our annual OHUG Global Conference, June 10-14, in Dallas. This year’s theme, “Blazing New Trails,” will inspire content that will enlighten and educate attendees. We’re looking forward to giving attendees the opportunity to network with their peers, as well as come away with tangible learning to apply in their organizations.

We’re also pleased to announce this year’s Thursday keynote speaker—Robyn Benincasa. She has made an art form of extreme performance by competing and winning at the highest levels of sports and business. She will speak to this year’s attendees about how to climb to new levels of professional and personal success through teamwork.

We are particularly excited about this year’s conference and believe it could be the biggest in OHUG history.

In addition to our conference, I’d like to encourage you to take advantage of your existing member benefits in 2013. Stay informed by attending our upcoming webinars, regional events and meet other members by joining our SIG communities. Remember that by advancing yourself professionally, you’re helping to advance the industry as a whole. We’ve already begun the year by adding a Taleo-PeopleSoft Integration SIG, which you can join on the OHUG website, and we look forward to more opportunities to create value for our members.

As your president, I look forward to seeing OHUG grow and succeed in 2013. I am excited about the opportunity to meet more of OHUG’s members in the coming months and wish you all a happy New Year!

Carolyn Hayden-Garner, MBA, CPP
