Keynote Speaker Robyn Benincasa Dominates Extreme Sports and Business

Benincasa will be the Thursday morning keynote speaker at the OHUG Global Conference 2013.

Robyn Benincasa has made an art form of extreme performance by competing and winning at the highest levels of sport and business. In her 15 years as an adventure racer, she has biked through jungles in Borneo, climbed mountains in Nepal, trekked across lava fields in Fiji, rafted rapids in Chile—and racked up multiple world championship titles along the way. In her book, How Winning Works, Benincasa shares the same training tools and exercises that have become wildly popular in her seminars, showing you how to climb to new levels of professional and personal success. Her eight-step method has been thoroughly battle-tested—from the harsh environment of endurance racing to the high-stakes environs of the business world.

“The biggest, strongest and fastest competitors are not guaranteed a successful finish,” Benincasa said. “It’s the teams that truly understand interdependence, have empathy for one another, share common ideals, manage adversity well and check their egos at the start line that win these races. In my experience, the same is true in the corporate world.” READ MORE

OHUG Looking for a Dedicated Volunteer to Fill the Role of Technical SIG Leader

If you are a DBA, system administrator, applications architect or a developer with experience from PL/SQL to Java, forms to Fusion, OHUG encourages you to apply for the volunteer Technical SIG leader position.

All OHUG SIG leaders assist in building the foundation of a strong committee that will only continue with the leadership and volunteer efforts of all involved. Most importantly, SIG leaders play an integral part in adding to OHUG participation, and, therefore, increased attendance and membership.

The Technical SIG coordinates feedback and sends it to the product development and support teams at Oracle. This SIG is a network of colleagues across the globe, many of whom are struggling with the same obstacles—whether it is an upgrade script that keeps tripping over its feet, a badly behaved concurrent job or a slow-running query that just needs another set of eyes. With guidance from the SIG leader, the SIG’s goals are to increase membership of the SIG, bring increased value to OHUG members and provide a vehicle to and from Oracle. If you are interested, please contact OHUG Headquarters at info@ohug.org.
